IUPUI is set to split into two different institutions, IU Indianapolis (IUI) and Purdue in Indianapolis (PUI), as of July 1. As a result, there will be two different housing portals for students this upcoming year, as Purdue students will now have to apply in a separate Purdue portal. Applications for both institutions will open on Jan. 26, 2024 at 9 a.m.

Latha Ramchand, currently serving as the executive vice chancellor and provost at the University of Missouri, will take the role of chancellor at Indiana University Indianapolis on Feb. 12. Ramchand is set to guide IUPUI through the transition to IU Indianapolis in July 2024.

On Sept. 25, the IUPUI women’s soccer team concluded their regular season with a 2-0 win over their in-state rival, Purdue Fort Wayne. The win secured the Jags the two seed and a first-round bye in the Horizon League tournament.

Going into halftime on September 10, 2023, the IUPUI women’s soccer team was down 1-0 against Lindenwood. Being counted out at halftime is where the Jags are most comfortable.

After announcing their plan for a split in August 2022, Indiana University president Pamela Whitten and Purdue University president Mung Chiang made the breakup official on Wednesday, with a special signing ceremony in the Campus Center Atrium.

IUPUI hosted Purdue Fort Wayne in the Horizon League Conference Tournament Quarterfinals. While coming in on a three-game win streak and defeating Purdue Fort Wayne in both regular season matchups, the Jaguars fell 69-73.

Both the Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving teams took runners-up in the Horizon League Conference Championship, their highest placement since joining the Horizon League in 2017.

Both swimming and diving teams are entering the Horizon League tournament each with a winning season under their belt and looking to capture their first-ever Horizon League conference titles. The team has tweaked their strategy leading into the conference tournament, their freshmen are swimming well, and their mental fortitude has improved with the help of mental health specialists.

As the IUPUI women's tennis team fell 2-5 in their last match of 2022 vs Northern Kentucky, there seemed to be hope for the season ahead. After two players were kicked off the team, their coach unexpectedly fired mid-season and another player missed significant time due to injury, any team would have had difficulty recovering and scraping together a successful season.

Alpha Chi Omega (AXO) hosted their Volley Against Violence on Oct. 14 to raise money for the Colburn Place in their fight against domestic violence. Phi Gamma Delta won the tournament after beating AXO in the final.

With a record of 3-4-1, some may be surprised to know that this is some of the worst football that the Colts have ever played. Frank Reich is once again contributing to the downfall of this team. He is an offensive minded coach with a terrible offense and dismal play calling. However, outside of their offensive blunders, the Colts' defense and special teams looks really strong. Additionally, there is hope that their quarterback struggles can be eased in the draft.
