Purdue Fort Wayne grabbed the lead early in the game and never looked back. While IUPUI kept close, Purdue Fort Wayne (PFW) kept converting their extra chances. While both teams exceeded their season averages for turnovers, PFW outscored IUPUI in points off turnovers by 11 points. With Jazymyn Turner taking control, IUPUI dominated the paint. On the contrary, the majority of PFW's points came from deep.

Audra Emmerson of Purdue Fort Wayne scored a career-high six three-pointers as Fort Wayne dominated IUPUI from beyond the arc. Second chances in the fourth quarter allowed IUPUI to claw back to tie the game up with three minutes to play. However, Amelia Bromenschenkel put the game away for Purdue Fort Wayne with back-to-back baseline layups and several crucial free throws down the stretch.

IUPUI's leading scorer, Jazmyn Turner, showed up big with an astounding 24 points and 12 rebounds. Additionally, IUPUI's point guard, Destiny Perkins stepped up too. Perkins scored 21 points, had 8 rebounds, and garnered 6 assists overall. In the 4th quarter, she led the IUPUI charge with 14 points in the final quarter alone.

The heartbreaking loss concludes IUPUI's 2022-2023 season. After pulling off the upset, Purdue Fort Wayne moves on to face top-seeded Green Bay in the semifinals hosted in Indianapolis.
