This draft was highly anticipated with the NCAA All Time Leading Scorer, Cailtin Clark from the University of Iowa, declaring back in February. Indiana has been eagerly awaiting the draft, and people were not disappointed on April 15. Fans packed Gainbridge Fieldhouse to watch the draft together and were ready to buy Clark’s merchandise the second they went on sale. Her merchandise became the top seller of any player on a draft day, surpassing Trevor Lawrence, and certain items were sold out by.

Not only were fans excited but Clark’s new teammates Lexie Hull, Maya Caldwell and Erica Wheeler were seen yelling and running around Gainbridge in her new Fever jersey the second her name was called. Head coach Christie Sides made sure to take time out of the draft office to celebrate with the fans and get them excited for the upcoming season.

The Fever start their regular season against the Connecticut Sun on May 14, at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Their first home game will be on May 16, against the New York Liberty.
