IU Indianapolis women's soccer (2-5-2, 0-1 Horizon League) will host Wright State (3-5-1, 1-0) at 7 p.m. Thursday at Carroll Stadium. The match comes after a 3-2 home loss to Milwaukee (3-4-2, 1-0) in the conference opener.
"I think that we played with a bunch of heart, we kind of, this is probably our hardest opponent, we know how to approach the rest of the conference," junior defender Keilah Muldrow said in an interview after the Milwaukee game. "I think this, even though it's a loss, it sets the tone for how much more we have in store for the rest of the games."
Wright State broke a five-game losing streak in its previous game. In their first official game of Horizon League action, the Raiders beat Robert Morris with a goal in the 53rd minute of a game in which they established control in the first half.
The teams last met during the 2025 Horizon League regular season. The game ended in a 3-2 loss for IU Indianapolis. In that matchup, the Jaguars came back from a two-goal deficit in the second half but lost after a Wright State goal in the 83rd minute. That game brought IU Indianapolis' record against Wright State since 1999 to 3-10-3.
The Jaguars come into the game averaging 1.67 goals per game, which is not too far off from Wright State's 1.56. The teams have also taken a similar number of corner kicks, with IU Indianapolis at 27 this season and Wright State at 34. Both teams have similar shots-on-goal percentages.
The matchups between IU Indianapolis and Wright State in the last 10 years have been close and competitive, with the Jaguars going 3-3-3 in that span. Most of those games were decided by one goal or ended in a tie, with the exception of the Jaguars' 3-0 home win in October 2019.
After Wright State, the Jaguars will host Northern Kentucky at 1 p.m. Sunday at Carroll Stadium.
