The rise of Coronavirus started in the middle of December last year, as it was discovered for the first time in Wuhan, China. In the past week, COVID-19 has surpassed 25,000 deaths globally, according to CNN. The virus has expanded from China to all around the world in just shy of a month. There are more than 101,000 confirmed cases in the United States alone.

Coronavirus has affected billions of lives.  It has crippled the economy, caused the stock market to crash and overloaded health-care systems. It has completely halted today's society, a change so unexpected people have no idea on how to spend the free time they now have. So many lives have been taken due to this virus and it shows no plan to slow down anytime soon. Most schools and colleges have now canceled face-to-face learning and are now resuming teaching online. Students have been forced to go back to their respective homes and continue classes via webcam. Seniors, specifically, are unfortunate as the Coronavirus has stripped them of attending their graduation ceremony, which is a milestone of their educational career.

Many countries around the globe, including the United States, have ordered a shutdown. It is imperative to maintain social distancing and stay quarantined for as long as needed in order to shut this virus down. It is important to practice what is being preached by the authorities and remain vigilant. These unfortunate times are tough on everyone and it's important to check in with friends and family and remind them that we are all in this together.
