A new sweet shop called Sticky Notes has opened on campus this fall 2025, bringing students, staff and visitors a fun and uplifting place to enjoy desserts, candies and different pastries.
Designed as both a dessert stop and mental recharge, the shop has quickly become one of many to go spots for students looking for something sweet and positive on campus.
Located inside the Campus Center at 420 University Blvd, Indianapolis, the shop’s convenient location makes it easy for people to stop by between classes, after study sessions or just to treat themselves after a long day.
Previously, the spot was home to Ace Sushi, a sushi spot that was originally located on the first floor before being replaced by Sticky Notes, which focuses on sweet pasties, according to lead manager Sharon Key.
“We're offering many freshly made cinnamon rolls, brownies, cookies and other baked goods with a sweet twist. We also have toppings like Oreos, Fruity Pebbles, s’mores and more that can be added to each treat individually,” Sharon said with a smile. “Honestly, the cinnamon rolls are the ones most people come back for, they’re our best seller.”
Walking into Sticky Notes, the first thing people notice is the bright and colorful atmosphere filled with warm, cheerful energy. The walls are covered in a soft-neon pastel design, decorated with sticky notes of every color – pinks, yellows, blues, oranges and greens – each one carrying handwritten messages of encouragement, positivity and kindness.
The interior of Sticky Notes is bright and peaceful, but extremely welcoming with small tables and bar-style seating near the windows.
The notes, written by students and visitors, range from funny quotes to short words of wisdom, such as; “You’re doing better than you think,” “Your pace is still progress,” “Be delusional. It’s working” or even "Do you ever just eat a snack and think: wow, I’m really alive.” The various quotes create a sense of community and warmth the moment you step in.
“Some of them are really random and odd, but others are genuinely creative and encouraging when you're having a bad day,” said nursing major Stephanie Baldwin.
The idea behind Sticky Notes is more than just sweets – it's about the positivity and connection you feel as you enter. Visitors are encouraged to leave their own sticky notes on the walls, adding to the growing collage of inspiring words.
The shop has become an aesthetic photo spot for many students, with many choosing to study or take pictures in front of the colorful backdrop full of touching messages.
Alongside the creative decor, the shop offers an impressive amount of various desserts that appeal to every kind of sweet tooth. The menu includes freshly baked brownies, warm cookies, soft funnel cake sticks, creamy ice cream and milkshakes available for everybody.
Customers can choose from a wide variety of toppings, including crushed candy, fruit, cookies, nuts, drizzled sauces, whipped cream, various forms of sprinkles and many others.
For those who may like to mix it up, the shop also offers build-your-own sundaes and dessert bowls, allowing visitors to personalize however they like.
“The funnel cake sticks with strawberry drizzle are actually better than I thought they would be,” said social work major Areyanna McTier.
Prices at Sticky Notes are budget friendly, with most desserts ranging between $3 and $8, depending on sizings and toppings. Sticky Notes also accepts Crimson Cards and Boost Mobile orders. The portions are filling, making it a great spot for sharing with friends or satisfying self cravings.
“Its not as lively in the evening, but once it hits around lunch time, so many customers come in. Most being students or hospital staff grabbing lunch,” said employee worker Sharlee Jones.
Many students and staff stop by not only for desserts, but also to unwind, chat or catch up on homework while enjoying a sweet treat.
“Sometimes I just come here to read the notes and get a cookie, before classes,” said junior Evelyn Martinez. “It's one of those peaceful calm spots, where I go just to regroup or review before classes.”
Since the opening, the shop has become a small favorite among students and staff, with frequent rushes in the afternoon. The staff keeps the environment and atmosphere upbeat, while greeting each customer with a smile and often encouraging them to leave a sticky note on the wall before they go.
Whether it's for a sugar rush, a quick mental break or a little encouragement, Sticky Notes offers something that goes beyond dessert – an atmosphere full of positivity, creativity, community and good vibes among the many encouraging uplifting messages.
