From tradition to transformation: The IUI Regatta journey from past to present

It marked the first Regatta as IU Indianapolis (IUI), infusing anticipation with fresh energy that set the stage for a celebration like no other. Regatta, originally an alumni-led event, was primarily centered on raising scholarship funds. While this was an admirable goal, the event found its true purpose when it transitioned under the Division of Student Affairs by shifting its focus from solely alumni-driven to a student-centered initiative. This transition allowed students to connect with the event on a deeper level and fostered a sense of responsibility and ownership for a broader campus community.

IUI hosts first Bridge Week post IUPUI split

Bridge has existed since 2001 incorporating a variety of events, presentations and activities in order to help incoming freshmen acclimate to the college experience at IUI. While it originally only included a portion of freshmen students, it was later expanded in 2022 to include all incoming freshmen. This year’s Bridge on Aug. 19-23 was the first Bridge post IUPUI divorce incorporating new, and old, traditions into the experience.

Letter from the Editors

On July 1, the IUPUI split was finalized. Although The Campus Citizen exists as an organization under IUI, we are still an independent news organization, and pledge to cover news that is relevant to both IUI and PUI students, as well as news that is relevant to the wider Indianapolis community.
