Winter Club of Indianapolis celebrates the 2026 Winter Olympics with Indiana Showcase

The Winter Club of Indianapolis hosted its fourth Indiana showcase at Holliday Park's ice rink on Jan. 17 from 3-5 p.m. The event offered public skating sessions and featured on-ice demonstrations by talented skaters from across Indiana throughout the afternoon. The showcase aimed to build excitement for the upcoming Winter Olympics, which will take place from Feb. 6-22 in Milano Cortina, Italy.

GenAI review: a student's perspective

In the fall of 2025, IU enrolled all of its students in an online course called Gen AI 101, which earned students a microcredential that showed they had been trained to use artificial intelligence (AI) in an efficient way as a tool and thought partner. Some classes, including Foundations of Journalism and Mass Communications, have even asked students to complete this course.

Late 2025 Newfields art exhibition: A watercolor juried show

This year at Newfields Art Museum of Indianapolis, watercolor is a large theme in their temporary exhibitions. From the historic pieces of J.M.W. Turner, a forefather of watercolor to the modern local artists competing in a competition dedicated to watercolor, this art could be found within the state’s radius as Newfields was displaying the 43rd watercolor annual juried show.

“77 and sunny”: The wearable art collection combining mental health and artistic expression

Plaid blankets laid over the grass and picnic baskets were filled with a feast of decadent food. Elegant models lay across the picnic dressed in avant-garde dresses. What appears to be the perfect picnic scene, is just another fantasy world created by Monique Burts. From dresses that look like cake, to dresses crafted completely out of paper, Burts puts on wearable art performances to tell her story.

In the 21st century, many students have reaped the benefits of the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence in computers. The past decade has shown the growth of AI assistants such as Grammarly and Photomath. In 2022, a new AI tool called ChatGPT started gaining popularity, which has become both a tool and disruptor of education.

“The Art of Resistance”: Dr. Orna Tsultem’s latest exhibition highlights how transformative art can arise from oppression

Dr. Uranchimeg (Orna) Tsultem is an esteemed, award winning art historian, dedicating her career to amplifying the voices of East Asian artists, particularly Mongolian artists, across the West. Her latest exhibition, “Mongol Zurag: The Art of Resistance,” was hosted in Venice, Italy, from April 20 to Nov. 24, 2024. This one-of-a-kind, innovative curation of contemporary art artfully addresses questions on national identity as well as the preservation of cultural heritage and traditions. Mongol Zurag refers to the specific style of artwork (mediums, characteristics used, etc.).
