Discussing Issues of the Past and Present with A'Lelia Bundles

A'Lelia Bundles, successful journalist, NBC producer and great-great granddaughter of Madam C.J. Walker was born in Chicago, but Bundles grew up in Indianapolis and its culture. She wants Indianapolis residents to know how the once vibrant Black neighborhood on Indiana Avenue was destroyed in pursuit of so-called progress.

IUPUI School Undergoes Name Change

IUPUI’s Informatics and Computing School has changed to the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering on Jan. 11 following the split between IU and Purdue. The name change is due to IU wanting to make the change more apparent and create a single identity for the two schools. This has come with reactions from students at IUPUI. “I think there could be small problems with it when there’s already buildings of the same name in Bloomington,” said one student.

Sports Management Club hosts talent show with Jagathon

January 18 was the Sports Management Club's (SMC) second annual "Show and See with SMC" talent show with Jagathon: IUPUI's Sports Marathon. The event raised over a record setting $150 and featured various acts including karaoke, dance performances, stand-up comedy and solving a Rubik's cube. “The intention from the beginning was to partner with Jagathon and find a way to raise as much money as we could, and have many acts come in with different people to get eyes on our club, and to just help out,” said one member of the SMC.

An Inside Look at the 14th Annual IUPUI Regatta

September 24th was IUPUI’s 14th annual Regatta, a traditional canoe race on the Central Canal in downtown Indianapolis. Students watched their peers compete in the canoe race, visited student organization booths in Military Park, viewed a dog costume contest and watched live performances at the Regatta Music Festival. "It was kinda upsetting that we did well but weren't allowed to compete in the finals due to them... losing our [time]... This is our last Regatta and we felt a little cheated, but we appreciated getting to have the experience," said one student.
